Q: Tell us about your wedding! What was the inspiration behind your day? Did you have a specific theme, style or color palette? Did you incorporate any cultural or religious traditions in any part of your day?
A: I tell everyone my wedding happened exactly how it was supposed! We were originally scheduled for a different venue and had to change the location due to COVID restrictions! Colette at Hamilton Farms was able to keep our original date and all vendors worked with us to have a spectacular day. We had a taupe/mauve color palette with a pop of blue - which ended up looking beautiful with the green backdrop throughout the golf course. We were fortunate to have my god father officiate the wedding.
Q: Let's talk wedding decor. How did you decorate your space for the ceremony and the reception? Was any part of the decor DIY?
A: Luckily, COVID-19 put a lot of our wedding decor on hold and we put our hands in Colette and Narcissus florals and they did not disappoint! The location of the reception was under a tent with beautiful touches throughout. Narcissus florals created a breathtaking arch for the ceremony! We kept our decor to be very simplistic which allowed for the flowers and location to really shine.
Q: What were the florals like in your wedding? Did you use flowers in any of your design elements like the bridal bouquets, centerpieces or ceremony backdrop? Did they play an important part in the overall style of your wedding?
A: The florals ended up playing a significant part in the overall style of our wedding. We kept everything very simplistic, which allowed for the florals to be our main wedding decor.
Q: Did you personalize the day in any way (food trucks, guest entertainment etc.)? What were some of your favorite parts of your wedding?
A: We surprised our guest with a Shake Shack food truck which ended up being a hit for after the reception! Everyone kept raving about the burgers, fries and shakes! Hank Lane did a phenomenal job of playing the music that we requested. A lot of the songs that we had on the playlist had significance to the guest who were there. We did have a Photo Booth which our guests loved! It gave them an opportunity to take a memory from our big day - as well as our custom face masks. At the gift table, we showed both our parents' wedding days photos which people loved! It was great to see how weddings and style have evolved through the photos.
Q: Let's talk fashion. How did you both choose your wedding day look? Describe the looks in detail.
A: I knew I wanted an open back dress, but was shocked when I fell for a dress with lace. I originally wanted a simple dress, but the lace added a romantic touch to the dress. I couldn't have loved my Blush by Hayley Paige more. The groom wanted something with a little bit of pop. He originally wanted to go with two colored suits - the groom in one and the grooms men in another color - but the gentlemen at Tessutos were able to come up with a plan that allowed for the groom to stand out without being too drastic. They were able to find ties that accented the bridesmaid dresses perfectly and had the groom in a bright white tie that accented my dress. The bridesmaid wore a muted taupe color that looked beautiful on everyone. All the bridesmaid picked a style that they felt comfortable in which allowed their confidence to shine. The maid of honor had beading work and a slight change of color which allowed her to stand out just enough.
Q: How did you meet? Tell us about the proposal.
A: The groom and I met at a part time job and we have been working with one another ever since. We are currently real estate agents together and love every second of it. The groom and I both love the beach, so my groom surprised me with a beach proposal. He had the day feel like any other day. We went to work together earlier in the day and decided to spend the remaining of the day down at the Jersey Shore. We went to the beach, just us two, prior to meeting up with my family which was a weekly occurrence. My groom proposed privately in the sweetest way and surprised me with friends and family after to celebrate.
Q: What was the most anticipated or special moment of your wedding day?
A: The most anticipated moment of our wedding day was being able to say "I do". We originally thought that we were not going to be able to get married with the virus but we were fortunate enough to still have our day with loved ones who could attend.
Q: Do you have any wedding planning or marriage advice that you'd like to share with other couples planning their day?
A: DO NOT SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF. Everything works out exactly how it was supposed to. I was fortunate enough to have fantastic vendors who helped keep me calm throughout the day and remind me how everything would work out exactly how it should. Colette at Hamilton Farm made sure that there was nothing to worry about and Lauren at Laurel Creative is THE BEST hype woman. She kept a smile on my face the whole day and made sure that my husband and I were comfortable throughout. I can not stress enough the importance of connecting with the vendors you choose as they really make everything come together exactly how it is supposed to.
