1. Tell us about your wedding! What was the inspiration behind your day? Did you have a specific theme, style or color palette? Did you incorporate any cultural or religious traditions in any part of your day?
My wedding day was so magical! It was a Christian wedding with a rustic boathouse theme. Our colors were neutrals and greenery with then men wearing black.
2. Let's talk wedding decor. How did you decorate your space for the ceremony and the reception? Was any part of the decor DIY?
My wedding theme was rustic and lots of wooden and gold pieces. I found a ton of inspo on Pinterest and also ordered lots of customized pieces from Etsy.
3. What were the florals like in your wedding? Did you use flowers in any of your design elements like the bridal bouquets, centerpieces or ceremony backdrop? Did they play an important part in the overall style of your wedding?
The flowers used at my wedding were eucalyptus and white roses!
4. Did you personalize the day in any way (food trucks, guest entertainment etc.)? What were some of your favorite parts of your wedding?
Our DJ was super fun. We had a red carpet photobooth that everyone really enjoyed!
5. Let's talk fashion. How did you both choose your wedding day look? Describe the looks in detail.
I always envisioned myself wearing a mermaid style dress and that’s exactly what I wore! I had a gorgeous long veil that definitely stood out. I also wore a crown with a beautiful updo. I surely felt like a Queen.
6. How did you meet? Tell us about the proposal.
My husband and I met at our church and became instant best friends. I so wish I would have met him sooner! My husband proposed to me at the Brooklyn Bridge in NYC. It was so significant because he had just accepted a new job offer in NYC so it meant we’d be moving from New Jersey and starting a new life together in New York.
7. What was the most anticipated or special moment of your wedding day?
The most special moment of my wedding day was of course marrying my best friend but besides that the father daughter first look was incredible. We both cried like babies. Laurel Creative captured this moment beautifully.
8. Do you have any wedding planning or marriage advice that you'd like to share with other couples planning their day?
One advice I would share is that as much planning as you do (it’s all so fun), be okay if things don’t turned out as planned. Make the best of it and just enjoy every single moment. What matters most is the MARRIAGE.
